Wider poor of talent available in the US job market

The hiring rate will be on the decline in the service and manufacturing sectors in September for the third month in a row, according to the Society for Human Resource Management’s (SHRM) latest survey on HR professionals.

This news could be of value to Talent and Leadership Management executives already struggling in developing staff for top positions. For companies looking to recruit, a wider pool of available talent may eliminate some difficulties. On the other hand, those not seeking new employees may feel the need to broaden their Talent and Leadership Management efforts. The SHRM report also found a sharp increase in recruiting difficulty for both sectors in August.

The marcus evans 7th Annual Strategic Talent Management & Leadership Development Conference took place in Chicago, Illinois, August 25-26, 2011.

The SHRM LINE data was collected through a monthly survey of HR executives at more than 500 service-sector and 500 manufacturing-sector firms. The LINE Employment Report for September reported that in September the hiring rate will decline on an annual basis in the manufacturing sector by 9.6% and in the service sector by 15.3%. SHRM is the world’s largest association devoted to HR management, and represents over 250,000 members in more than 140 countries.
