Africa Defence Supply Chain Management
A key criteria to maintaining an efficient and effective mobile reactionary force
Event Date: 10-11 Mar 2008
Location: Century Lake Hotel, Pretoria, South Africa
Conference Focus

Supply chain management has become vital in these days of armed conflict, conflict resolution, peace keeping and national security. In the ever changing world of technology, the defence industry is evolving at an alarming rate with emphasis placed on effectiveness and efficiency. The ability to deploy forces quickly with no time loss and the capability of that force to rapidly mobilize and contain its objective with minimum personnel loss is dependent on effective logistics. Adequate logistics strategies can only be effective if there is efficient supply chain management in place.

For the Defence industry, an effective supply chain is also critical if it has to meet contractual orders in time. Manufacturing companies with properly structured supply chain will invariably become the favoured companies of DoDs as they are prompt at meeting delivery deadlines.

Africa Defence Supply Chain will look at identifying transformations and development and procedure for achieving supply chain excellence. It will also address issues relating to maintenance of equipment, improving logistics strategies and developing efficient store management.
