Catherine Dasale - Event Management
My name is Catherine Dasale and I have been with marcus evans, Inc. since December of 2007. I started as a Conference Producer within the Latin American Business Strategy division and, in February of 2008, assumed my present role as the Event Operations Manager for all Latin American events.
Our Latin American conference division currently operates within both the Spanish- and Portuguese-speaking markets and holds about 20 conferences per year in cities such as Mexico City, Mexico; Bogotá, Colombia; Buenos Aires, Argentina; and São Paulo, Brazil. As the event manager for these conferences, I am responsible for sourcing and contracting appropriate 4 or 5 star venues; maintaining the event budgets in order to decrease the overall cost margin; ensuring clear communications to each participant whether they be a speaker, sponsor, delegate, or media partner; as well as travelling to the conference for onsite event management.
An effective Event Manager possesses both time management and organizational skills. As many times the conference portfolio includes a series of events in different stages of evolution, attention to detail is essential to facilitate success and to keep up with the fast-paced environment.
Because the role of the Event Manager functions together with other members of the conference team, the ability to communicate to a diverse group of people through the various outlets of telephone, e-mail and person-to-person interaction is vital to the smooth flow and overall satisfaction of our conference attendees and participants.
For me, Event Management for Latin American conferences at marcus evans, Inc. continues to be a rewarding career path. Each day, I am awarded the opportunity to interact with a host of different professionals, languages, cultural norms and practices over the course of each event.
As our Latin American conference portfolio expands into new areas, my goal is to seek new ways to ensure the continued efficiency of event management for our conferences and flawless delivery of the highest quality conferences throughout Latin America.
