Antony Kleanthous - IT Support Technician

I started working for Marcus Evans in November 2009 as an IT Support Technician.  My initial role was to provide IT support to users and to attend to any other IT related issues.  Since the start of my employment I have also taken responsibility for the London Audio/Visual department and I look after all of the audio/visual requirements for the London conferences and professional training events.  I have been involved in office and server moves/setups both in London and around Europe, the first two taking place in Barcelona and Amsterdam.

Some of my main duties as an IT and AV technician are to

  1. offer the best IT support and advice

  2. maintain the IT helpdesk while responding to user queries effectively and efficiently

  3. looking after the AV equipment and setups during conferences and professional training events

  4. monitor and maintain the video conferencing software/hardware

  5. To act upon any other IT related projects and issues.

One of the many things I enjoy about working for Marcus Evans is that I am faced with different challenges and scenarios on a daily basis and the same issue rarely occurs twice.  As a technician this keeps me focused and active as I always need to be prepared for the bigger challenge that may come my way and also means that I have an ever growing learning curve.

My goal within the IT department is to bring a proactive working approach to the department,  going out to find and fix the problems before they occur, making the work flow for the users more stable and constant with the least amount of interruption to their daily working life at Marcus Evans.  I also want the Marcus Evans staff to keep a level of confidence and respect towards the IT department, knowing that any problems they may come up against will be tackled effectively and efficiently.
