Nicola Papaphilipou - Event Manager Summits and Congresses

My career at marcus evans began 5 years ago as an Event Manager for the newly established European Congress Division in the Cyprus office.

As part of a small dynamic team I worked closely with my colleagues at marcus evans to develop and grow the congress product, to establish and nurture client and supplier relationships.

My day-to-day work as an Event Manager involves intensive client contact and a profound service mentality but also strong negotiation skills when it comes to negotiating prices and contract conditions with venues, hotels and suppliers.

What I enjoy most about my job are the constant new challenges in need of solutions, the extensive travelling and the daily communication with clients and colleagues from different cultural and business backgrounds.

Within the congress team I have supervised and mentored junior members of staff both, in the event management and the marketing department.

Recently I have been given the exiting new opportunity to join the Summit Event Management Team and organize Summits as well as Congresses, and I am very much looking forward to the future challenges and responsibilities.

My years at marcus evans have shown me that one is constantly given the opportunity to develop one’s skills and to excel at what one does, whilst also being rewarded for enthusiasm, hard work and motivation.
