Barbara Chim - Reseacher

On a daily basis my role is to receive and record any research list that are sent over by the Marketing Dept into the research report, delegating the list for the members of my team to research, and checking daily on their progress.

I also log all Evaluation Summaries, which come in from the Operation Managers into a report.

I update the Research Report every time a researcher from my team has finished & is about to start a new list. When a member of my team has finished a list I then proof it. Randomly selecting persons from the list, calling and verifying the details they have given the researcher. If there are any corrections they are listed and sent back to the researcher for correcting.

I also proof the Evaluation Summaries which my team complete.  I research my own list, calling & verifying persons; my section is normally life sciences.  

The role I enjoy most is training when we have new researchers in the department. I enjoy helping the other researcher come up with new techniques for researching, and giving them new ideas on how to overcome obstacles they may come across.

One of the biggest challenges can be getting email address from delegates to overcome this I usually try to build a rapport with them. With working on a particular sector you become familiar with email sequences and you can usually ask the delegate if this is their email address.

My goal within the group is to assist the Assistant Researcher Manager to come up with efficient ways to promote comradery within the team
