Globalisation of the world economy and rapid technological changes continue to effect the nature of work and employment practi body lang=EN-US style='tab-interval:36.0pt'>

Globalisation of the world economy and rapid technological changes continue to effect the nature of work and employment practices, exposing employees to new and serious health risks. The changing world of work coupled with the aging workforce within the oil and gas industry is challenging the health of those working in the industry.

Occupational Health (OH) is the ‘poor cousin’ in the H&S relationship with most company initiatives focusing on the safety side of H&S even though work related occupational health damage is a far greater problem than occupational accidents.

The Health and Safety Executive estimates that there are 2.1 million cases of ill health every year caused or made worse by work. Some 25,000 people leave the workforce annually due to work related injury or ill health.

It is critical that workplace health professionals and decision-makers examine how they can best protect and promote the health and well-being of their employees.

Join this marcus evans forum and examine how employee wellbeing and health should be a strategic lever to boost competitiveness and organizational effectiveness - the costs to individuals, organisations and the economy as a whole are too big to ignore.
