Actress Anna Friel will star alongside Oscar nominee Bob Hoskins and Rhys Ifans in a two-part prequel to the Peter Pan story.
The miniseries ï¿½Neverlandï¿½ marks the first original feature length commission for Sky Movies HD. According to Sky Movies HD, Neverland will be a bold new take on the original mythology of JM Barrieï¿½s famous story.
The project is set to provide a compelling history of many of the beloved characters including The Lost Boys, Captain Hook, The Indians, Croc and Neverland itself.
Production is expected to begin on the four-hour ï¿½movie eventï¿½ next week, 6 September, in Genoa, Italy and then move to Dublin.
Anna Friel, who is represented by Ken McReddie Associates agency, will play Captain Elizabeth Bonny with Rhys Ifans as James Hook with. Much loved British actor Hoskins will reprise his role from Steven Spielbergï¿½s feature ï¿½Hookï¿½ as Mr Smee.
It is slated to air in on Sky Movies Premiere HD in 2011.
